Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Tracelight, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptable use

Tracelight is for lawful investigative intelligence work: due diligence, fraud investigation, journalistic research, and case-related OSINT. You agree not to use it for:

You are responsible for protecting your credentials, API tokens, and Slack/webhook secrets. We will suspend accounts on credible reports of abuse.

3. Billing

Plans are monthly or annual via Stripe. You may cancel at any time from Settings; access continues through the end of the paid period. Failed payments trigger a 14-day grace window, then downgrade to free tier. Refunds are at our discretion.

4. AI & report generation

Reports are generated using Claude (Anthropic). All findings include source citations. AI output is informational and does not constitute legal, employment, or credit-decision advice. Verify before acting on automated findings.

5. Data ownership

You own the investigation data you create. We act as data processor. On account termination you may export all data via our DSAR endpoint or by request to support@trytracelight.com.

6. Limitation of liability

Tracelight is provided "as is". Our maximum liability is the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Disputes will be resolved in courts sitting in Miami-Dade County.

8. Changes

We may update these terms with 30 days notice via email to workspace owners. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
